I also have j5create USB Type-C to 4K DisplayPort Adapter (https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1208733-REG/j5create_jca140_usb_type_c_to_4k.html) and it works perfectly fine as well. I do have to plug in/out a few times and sometimes have to reboot - much more inconsistent than I thought given my initial ‘plug and work' case. And I feel like this could be solution - One via default mini display + One via HDMI on the adapter. How to connect 3 Displays FACT: Dell XPS L702X will support 3 displays. 2 External, plus the Laptop monitor.

Dell Xps 13 External Monitor Resolution
I ended up connected both the L701X and L702X using a mini-DP to DP and an HDMI to DVI. The dell only has hdmi connectivity. I finally broke down and called Dell Sales and Tech Support, both gave wrong and different answers the first time but at least they gave me information to think about. this contact form As I understand it, the USB-C connector on the 9350 is what is known as a Thunderbolt Alternate Mode connection (as indicated by the thunderbolt symbol on the port) .
It apparently only works for certain resolutions. Plugable do have two TB3 docks coming out over the next few weeks/months according to their website; these would be good for at least one DP monitor, but probably won't support I haven't tried anything between 1920x1080 and 2560x1440 yet, but I'd like any resolution to work. Glad to hear it!
Why they couldn't also include a DP or HDMI port or hold off until there was a cable is nuts. I took a chance and bought this USB-C to DisplayPort adapter from amazon and hoped for the best. It works perfectly with my older 1680x1050 Dell monitor (via a HDMI to DVI adapter).
Edit: Yes, it nice and neat Thunderbolt 3 - but the price is quite depressing. So you can see my worry - it looks like all the services this port offers are coming from the TB 3 chipset - including any video ones. Windows 10 built 10130 (latest Dell video drivers) sees both monitors and believes they are both running. I work in three offices and the adapter I got lasted 2 weeks before burning out and it was the second one. 20% of forum posters are having the same issue
Personally, I think that the removal of VGA, and even HDMI/DP from home laptops is long overdue, but there needs to be a better attempt made at providing docks and adapters HDMI was not tested.
