I'm ahead of you there and thought about the charger. It wasn't until a few weeks later that it started modulating between battery not detected and battery detected, but I knew it wasn't a problem with the battery as it'd still I did ran into a few issues and flaws during my time with this laptop though, which hindered the daily experience, and some of them could make me think twice before But now that's not working anymore, so I assume its the part which connects to the computer.

The port would wobble around and possibly be pulled out when I disconnect the charger. The only way I've been able to fix the problem is to replace the motherboard. It doesn’t always occur and it usually gets back to its senses after a restart or two. Another similar annoyance is that the power button is also backlit all the time.

On one side, I appreciate that it’s tough. You could look at the Zenbook UX305UA, which is cheaper for a similar config than the XPS, but it's a bit bigger and lacks a backlit keyboard. It worked fine for me when I used a Dell-branded 90 watt charger, but not when I used an off-brand 60 watt charger. --------------------------------------------------------- Go into the Device Manager.
