Yet again this month, a customer has arrived with Windows showing faulty USB in Device Manager. . . . Only some of the ports went bad, namely my 3.0 ports. I've tried the USB root hub power settings fix, I've tried the uninstalling of the root hub fix and neither of them have any long term effect and are generally useless. Had to get a new mouse, though, old one just wouldn't work, new one fine on the FRONT ports.

I don't know what exactly happened, but it happened after pressing on the reset button. I have a HP desktop about 6 years old. Solution 1 didn't helped me. Usb Driver For Windows 10 64 Bit found it very useful.

I even updated to windows 8.1 to see if that would change anything. What steps exactly did you take?
