This should help you get started with sharing your files and other devices with your Windows 7 machine.  When I first started I was able to see the printer on XP Protocols, etc. Right-mouse click the port for your home LAN (local area network) and click on Properties. You can also share a printer between Windows 7 machines on the same network but not Homegroup. I don't know how to set up that kind of account on the XP machine though. I am able to Ping from A to B and B to A but I can still not access either from either pc.
