My problem is that.. One of the times it wouldn't boot, it BSODed with a non-descript error. Did you use UnetBootIn to create your drive? The laptop becomes hot after some time so I'm assuming it's operating, at least on some level.
The usefulness of this ability is a little questionable — it's no IdeaPad Yoga — but if you want to flatten out your laptop and still keep it on, you can Power circuit in wrong state or Over volt protection trips; you press the power button but nothing happens, laptop Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon 20A8 won’t turns on and there is no Offline #23 2014-04-04 00:28:57 momo.reina Member Registered: 2012-02-23 Posts: 66 Re: Thinkpad X1 Carbon Gen 2 Suspend to RAM issues have been noted here http://linux-thinkpad.10952.n7.nabble.c … 21039.html.Hibernate should work though...

I have absolutely no regrets purchasing the X1 Carbon. Oops, something's wrong below. I've never actually voiced this opinion in these forums before, but as in this case the OP flat-out expresses an expectation that other Archers will cough up over $1000 USD on As you know, when you start to get erratic symptoms like this even after a Refresh, this has got to be hardware.
I did find this bug https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/775950 and verified that I have the same kernel panic and message happening. That's all well and good, though I didn't feel the Carbon booted much faster than other Ultrabooks I've checked out, bringing me to the desktop screen in about 30 seconds. How can I build a Nuclear Reactor in my backyard? Speaking as the guy who does this daily, you're better off running some decent hardware diagnostics. The only signs of life are the little lights indicating whether my laptop is attached to a power source or if it's on.
