XPS 13 (9630) BIOS Update & EGPU Support

Contents

I used Adobe photoshop and premier pro, streamed Fallout 4 from Steam from my other computer and downloaded Portal Knights and played it pretty well. So technically everything works with booting with AHCI setting, but I am a bit puzzled by this behavior after the BIOS update, so I thought I would inquire about it. My concern right now is the hinge of my Dell. About the other thing (thanks) the review says it's not really high end anymore (since that card was released in 2014), so not sure it's a good investment? Source

So what is the real situation? Cheers

See reference.      I don't know if my previous firmware says "eGPU supported: yes" as I didn't check, but I can confirm that the latest one says "no". All Replies Posted by ejn63 on 14 Dec 2016 16:14 On the first question, was Windows reinstalled in SATA mode or NVMe? Akitio Thunder 3 i found that the new version would recognize the core and the Nvidia GPU driver but would give that incompatible notification and i found older version wouldn't recognize the core at I've tried disabling the Intel HD graphic and even uninstalling it but for what ever reason it reinstall its self and then overrides the core. DrHaas New Member Just as an update i have still yet to get it to work.

Everything worked fine (rebooted multiple times), then did the BIOS update to 1.2.3 and Windows could not boot, and the BIOS also said "(none)" under System Information next to both at I discovered that Arch Linux does not recognize the NVMe PCIe SSD if the SATA conroller is set to Raid On mode in the BIOS. Check out his video here. this contact form Ill definitely try to unplug and take the GPU out and reinstall it. Since clearly all solutions are going to approach $1000 after everything, I'd rather not feel I've bought a mediocre solution. The battery may not charge. Alienware Graphics Amplifier

I'm really trying to replicate your setup - I'll fight with the parts that you haven't done, such as getting it to work with linux + tensorflow. As far as I understand, if I have an NVMe PCIe SSD drive (CX2-8B512-Q11 NVMe LITEON 512 GB), there is no need for the SATA controller to be enabled, and this have a peek here Do I need any additional software for this?  Have used another manufacturer before and this was pretty straight forward but we are trialing the Dell laptops and need to get this

If anyone out there can help i would appreciate it. A key takeaway from the plugable link above is to reduce the wifi power to 75%. This XPS 13 comes with a 13.3″ QHD+ touch screen, Intel® Core™ i7-6560U, Iris Graphics 540, and one Thunderbolt 3 port.
